Just finished this new painting. I wanted to create a vibrant color, close up painting of a large butterfly fish(the Copperband butterfly fish) that would be artsy and fun. Copperband butterfly fish are found in Australia, Indonesia, Melanesia, Singapore and Solomon Islands . It loves coral reefs and tropical climates. One of the largest butterfly fish. It makes a beautiful pet in your home salt water tank but you need at least a 50 gallon tank to have it stay healthy.

Hello all. I have been working on and off on this painting for a couple of weeks. Anybody that tells you Zebra's are easy to paint is well...... I found them very difficult . I had a wonderful reference from several different photos taken by my dear friends who traveled to South Africa, in order to get a concept of the look . Zebras are located in 3 different areas(regions) but no region will interbreed with another. They are considered to be black with white stripes rather than white with black stripes. They can travel in a heard of a couple thousand but often are found in smaller family groups. They can not be trained like a horse but are highly intelligent . They are brave against predators. Usually only getting 4' to 5' tall at the shoulder. Interestingly no two Zebra's have the same identical stripe pattern. I hope you enjoy this painting newly added to my Safari collection on my website. Until next time . .... take care..... The painting I created was made of oil on wrapped canvas.
