Hello all. I noticed the other day while visiting our family beach house, a fisherman winding the day down with his pole in the sand, hoping for that last catch of the day. I mentioned this to my Dad , who at age 90, said he always wanted to fish off the beach after my mom and he purchased the place, but had never taken the time to do so. I was inspired by this to create this painting. The sunset maybe a bit vivid for the northern Cal. coast but with me being the artist and in control of the work, decided to make the piece a little more interesting with some brighter colors. One of my loves of painting is not being limited by recreating a photo or place perfectly, and being able to have the painted image be from my own mind. I hope you enjoy.. till next time.. Hi All. Just finished this painting which I would consider to be rather simple but with a lot of dimension. I wanted to have the sun subtle, glazing the water. I have visited many tropical island beach lagoons with views like this and it always put me in a mixed feeling of relaxation and renewal. As this new year hopefully brings new and exciting creations of art on my part, I hope you will all enjoy these paintings as the new year progresses. Until next time. enjoy! |
