Hello everyone. One of my latest paintings is also one of my personal favorites. Several years ago I had a wonderful saltwater tank in my home and as dangerous as the Lion fish is with its highly toxic venom, the beauty and grace of this amazing fish was way worth the risk of getting stung by it. I was able to discover that it was actually quite shy at first but as it became more comfortable with me feeding it feeder fish and being in the room with it, the less it threw its top spines forward at me. I have snorkeled in the tropics and come across these beauties in their natural environment. It's striking markings and flowing feather like fins, demanded both a safe distance and a curiosity that makes it one of my favorite choices for a theme for . The many hours of detail I think was worth it. Take care until the next blog... see other paintings at www.tysonart.net

I have just finished a new painting I am rather proud of. I wanted to capture the shallow reef environment which invites many colorful species of coral and fish to thrive there. I had so much fun with this one trying to add as many fun fish and coral , featuring Angels of various types as well as Banner fish and damsels . The painting invites you deep into it with lots of detail. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it. You will find the painting and close up details of the painting on my site with the painting called " Beautiful reef with Angels"
