Hi all. Recently my dear friends went on a trip to Greenland on kind of an expedition called Ice burgs and Northern lights. They were able to see some amazing sites including polar bears, amazing beauty and untouched wilderness. I was inspired by their photos and decided to create this painting which includes an ice burg bridge and penguins jumping into the water in the background on the mid left side of the painting. At the current rate of retreat all the glaciers in Glacier National park will be gone by the year 2070. Scientists are reporting polar bears drowning because they have to swim longer distances to reach the ice flows and that the polar bear will become extinct in Alaska by the year 2050. The less we rely on fossil fuels(coal and oil), burning them to create fuel, a reverse of the warming can still take place. There are many people and companies in the world who benefit financially from these fuels who will always strive to keep things the way they are. We as a human race, need to understand the consequences of all we do and encourage change before its too late for these wonderful natural environments and the future of this planet. I will continue to paint as many natural environments and the wildlife in those habitats to inspire with beauty, still with the hope that people will continue to appreciate these places great enough to want to restore and protect our world. Until next time... Take care and enjoy life.. John Garland Tyson Tyson environmental art..
