Hi all. Hope you are having a great first month in the new year of 2015. This year for me is going to be more of an attention to detail including my paintings. I have several friends in a past few months who have had the privilege of being able to travel to someplace tropical. This has inspired me to create this simple palm tree with a sunset on the horizon. Note with this painting, I tried to capture the light and where it would be as the sun goes down. I am trying to create work this year that a collector could blend into their environment and remind them of a place they might have been or a place they would like to go to.. This painting was totally from mind, brush to canvas. If I use a photo to create something, its usually multiple photos just to get the shape or color of something, but I never try to replicate a photo of something as I want it to be my creation , something from my mind and heart directly onto the canvas. I have received some really nice reviews from posting this work , of which I am pleased that it has touched some folks out there already. This piece is of course for sale .
