Hello all.. I have shared a bit of the process for creating my latest painting in some previous postings but this has the final result in a better quality of the photo taken this am. I shot the painting outside under natural light. I am especially happy that I am able to paint again after my left eye surgery that had compromised my sight to the point of not being certain if my depth perception would return to create better work this year. Painting for me is a process with many layers and steps of progression, some of which comes from the depths of my soul. I start out with a blank canvas working from the top down and forward. Light for me is an essential aspect.. if its coming from above, how would life be effected by it, where the shadows would happen, subtle background images to create depth. If I were to dive down and hold a camera , shooting at the reef and other wildlife visiting it, how would the image appear? What do I want the attention on ? Lots goes through my twisted mind as the brush touches the canvas. Being an artist is very much a part of who I am and what I create is hopefully going to go on, for generations to admire and become inspired by. Life is so short and we all hope to make our mark on it somehow. Often times we do not realize the impact till we are not around anymore . I am really hoping my paintings inspire the collector , admirer or even an art student who goes on to be way more famous, to appreciate wildlife and want to preserve it. Making a living at it is an ends to a means as well and of course any purchases of either prints or originals, helps me afford to continue to create and travel for more inspiration. Look for some amazing new pieces from me coming up soon.. take care and Enjoy.... John Garland Tyson

Hey John, I am so impressed ..... and happy for you. I would love to see a couple in person and I live near Pioneer. Are you in any of the local gallery's?? I am in escrow with a house that these would be perfect in. One here and there. You know, : )

Hi Arna We moved up here about 2.5 years ago. I haven't shown in any galleries up here yet, still trying to figure out a good fit for that. Glad you like some of my work. Where abouts near Pioneer are you? Good luck with your escrow.
