Hi all.. After painting my goldfish painting recently entitled" Adding some more water", I decided to expand on the goldfish theme and create a new series for my site entitled Goldfish and Koi. I have always enjoyed Koi and goldfish. In the Asian culture, they represent prosperity, good fortune and new beginnings... I love that Koi live to an old age, many surviving past their human counterparts. They come in many varieties from subtle to vibrant colors and short to veil fins. In the right environment, they can grow from a few inches to several feet in length. In the winter, their metabolism slows down and they barely process food. In the summer they appetite is huge, feeding on whatever lands in the pond. I have seen them attack baby ducks and bull frogs. I hope to create several more paintings with this beautiful fish in hopes that the subject matter will appeal to a broader audience. Check out my site regularly to see the latest creations. Until next time... Enjoy..
